this is a print of an abandoned Shamrock gas station and is part of a series entitled: "Through the Glass". It juxtaposes two worlds--one behind the glass(viewed throught the missing pane) and the other reflected in the glass. It is a limited edition of 15.

This work addressed the alarming influence of popular culture in defining identity and acceptance. It is rooted in the concept of "acceptable feminity" and questions the boundaries of gender identity.

"This painting is part of an ongoing series within a series. I have done two other paintings of this particular swimming pool, and numerous paintings of pools and water scenes. What I find fascinating about water are its reflective and transparent qualities. I find the strong geometry and color of the tiles and pillars of the room contrasted by their soft reflections, as well as the flowing surface of the pool and the steamy dirty windows blurring Montreal in the background all visually appealing in this image." My work is about things that I have experienced but do not yet understand. This creates an informing two way exchange between myself and the paintings. I'm interested in human relationships, mark making and color.

My imagined forms are my inquiry into internal and external components of breathing. They demonstrate conditions of the body, its internal environment and the outer atmosphere. Through my forms, I explore the qualities of flesh and bodily structure juxtaposed with the etheral and weightless characteristics of a breath.

All humans share an innate understanding and curiosity about their bodies- and others- as a recorde of experiences. I seek these visual clues to my subjects' stories. Wrinkles, dimples, scars, stretch marks, and asymetries mark physical changes that range from those I have experienced to changes that foreshadow my future.

By fusing elements of the real, the surreal and the abstract, and using digital and traditional techniqes, my work explores boundaries- both metaphysical and artistic- with a particular interest in the intersection of these boundaries and the precarious spaces that lie in between. Whether dissecting form, saturating color, drawing out texture or isolating space and light, the resulting images are multidimensional with stark, etheral qualities. Created through the lens of a detached observer, one who is suspended in a purgatory-like relm, my work analyses sociopolitical and religious themes.

Marker V involves the relationship between art object- two panels with a reversed image- and the observer. It invokes a question of orientation between observer and observed.

Dandelions are not an urban pest- but are nutritious with medicinal values. Railroad tracks and old industrial complexes are full of history and presence- not just an abandoned past. This piece is about remberance, exploration and rediscovery of places and things forgotten and lost.

I create this work through processing images in my Examined Repitition series. I trace brush marks from a painting and then cut marks out of waxed masa paper. I use multiple images in one piece and layer paper to create an interaction between shapes and space through the luminosity of the paper.
